My sister, Jemma was a bubbley, outgoing inspirational young women. She was a funny girl who always made people smile with her witty ways. Growing up, she was like any other normal kid, who had lots of friends! She would never let her condition get her down. She turned 18 and the wild child became alive for a few months while she enjoyed the high life with her closest friends! At 19, she met Jake. The first person she'd ever let in about her condition, who became her partner. In life, Jemma had 3 wishes. To be a bridesmaid, have a baby and get married. She was over the moon when in 2011 she found and out she was pregnant. We all knew it would be a strain for Jemma's body but it was a dream come true to her. Unfortunately, in May 2012 she had a little girl called Lola, stillborn. She still smiled and said ' I said I'd become amum one day'. In September 2012 Jemma's condition worsen making her need constant antibiotics and oxygen spending most of her time in the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. In January, her last 2 wishes came true. She was bridesmaid to Jakes sister, Hayley and then in a hospital room ceremony she became Mrs Shearsby on the 10th January 2013 surrounded by her family. Through the last month of her life she knew she wasn't going to get better, but continued to make us smile with her courage and fought her battle right till the end, when sadly she lost her battle peacefully on the 24th February 2013 aged just 21. She really was an amazing person who touched so many people a hearts. She wasn't just my sister but my beast friend. My 3 daughters adored her. I will keep her memory alive like she wished for. Me and her closest friends are going to be doing a different event each year in her memory for cystic fibrosis. We have already done the London NightRider in June raising nearly £4000 for the condition. I miss you everyday. Love you always. Xxxx
